06 evo no start p0335 CPS circuit

ok so i get in my car yesterday go to start it didnt start i shut ignition off car started and drove home fine. After leaving car overnight next morning i find the car wont start and the CEL is flashing at times. Used my cheap scanner and found a code P0335 crank position sensor circuit B1. Not sure if this is common or not but here is the weird part to me when i go to start the car dash lights come on while stepping on the clutch you hear the fuel pump prime while trying to crank it but there is no crank or anything. has anyone else had a similar problem is the CPS a common part to go bad the car has just bolt ons, but has been sitting for a year or so due to a bad clutch thank you very much.

I am currently running into the same issue. I just bought another used starter as back up. I checked all of the termainals and everything looks tight. I am guessing its the starter

I had an issue like this. The reluctor wheel came loose and hit the cps causing catastrophic failure of it. Check the voltage readings off your cps when cranking.

^^^thanks for the advice, I'm going to try that tomorrow and also I think my starter might be fried from the cranking over and over again during the compression test so I'm going to test it tomorrow.
