Hard time selecting 1st and 2nd on my evo9!

Hi guys.
When I had the trans out of the car. The gears shifted nice and smooth by hand. Once I installed it back in and put the shifter cables back on and connected them and now it is hard to pull the shifter to the left and select 1st or second. Have to almos use 2 hands to do it. Could it be the lower shifter bushings seizing up. It goes into other gears with out any extra force required to select them. I purchased new TWM lower shift bushing kit. Hopefully that will solve my issue.
Thanks

this a a shift bushing install. don't worry about the install, use it so you know what a shift linkage is and make sure the bushings are in place and secure. if they are not secure you wont be able to get in or out of gear.
