Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while.

whats the oil pressure?
I don't have an oil pressure gauge so I'm not exactly sure. No outward signs of high or low pressure though.

I got rid of my MR gauges and went with all AEM gauges. You get a truer reading. The max temp my oil temp reads is 200 degrees and my mechanic is aware of it and says that's fine for a mid-modified daily driver...I use MOBIL 1 as per the owner's manual. I am using an OEM thermostat/fans and a CBRD radiator. Car has 100K on it...
I am planning on getting aftermarket gauges at some point, but don't wanna cheap out on those just to have something. I have prioritized spending money on potential fixes than on gauges, but I know it's hard to get an accurate read on things until I have accurate gauges.

My stock gauge also was normally around 70C in the summer time, on really hot days in traffic I saw 90C too.... if you are really worried, I'd drain and flush your oil cooler... Otherwise it seems pretty normal.... but I'd ask how long have you been monitoring your oil temps? are we speaking months? or years? .... I'm speaking years.
It has persisted for over a year. Temps didn't go much above 70 in winter but it's back in full force this summer.

Oil cooler should be checked, and 75degreee thermostat won't heart
A lower temp oil cooler thermostat actually could hurt a street car for reasons I won't get into here.

Did you do this yet? How about anything else that's changed since last summer--are you still running the stock undertray, Any other aero-type stuff changed?

How about cleaning out the oil cooler somehow--compressed air or water?

Different wheels/tires reducing vacuum in the wheel well?
Thanks scheides. I am pretty meticulous with all things, not just cars. I follow the adage of "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

I did a quick visual of the duct and the cooler itself and all looked fine. I didn't take the bumper off and look around though; I need to do more thorough checks but it's hard to find time with an 8-week old daughter.

what are the coolant temps?

Stock engine temp gauge reads normal but I know it's actually indicating a range and not an exact temp, so it doesn't provide me much info. I still need to order the thermostat and flush the coolant to rule out those things as a possibility.

Update: replaced my thermostat yesterday (finally) and that seems to have done the trick. I'll have to drive a bit more to make sure but, so far, everything is acting as it was and should be. Such a relief and I'm kind of pissed at myself for not addressing it sooner. Live and learn.

Also, I tracked down the oil cooler "thermostat" which isn't referred to as a thermostat, rather an "oil cooler bypass valve," part #MD356695. I bought one of those too, just in case the coolant thermostat didn't do the trick.
