Odd Cold Start Issue - Evo 8

Hey Guys,

I have this strange cold start issue that I cannot figure out. When I start the car during a cold start, it idles fine immediately at first but then like 10 seconds will go by and the boost gauge shows vacum change from normal -17 to -10 and I hear this awful sounding rattling noise coming from underneath the car right in front. If you stand behind the car and listen to the exhaust, it sounds like a cold start of a V8 big block (best way i can explain it).

After about 4 minutes or so of the car running like this, the noise seems to rattling noise goes away, the exhaust sounds normal, and the vacuum returns to -17. At first, I thought it was an exhaust leak but we can't figure out. Could a cracked manifold cause this? Anyone else have any idea what else could be causing this? It's driving me crazy!

Thank you!

Sounds like exhaust leak. Check all the gaskets.
