i need help guys, i took a short vid clip of my evo IV whine on the way home today.. just wanted to know if this is my transfer case whining of something else? its really bugging me out.

 

It doesnt sound like the typical whine of a transfer case thats shot.. Doesnt sound loud enough. I would first dump the t-case fluid and check for shaving's before you say its dead. Just being low on fluid will make the t-case louder.

 

i actually just changed the fluid like 2 weeks ago and there's no metal shaving from it.. but just a very little and very fine shavings.. and the fluid doesnt seem bad when i changed it and it is still color red. and also, the whine goes on and off.. but mostly its making noise when on 4th or 5th goind around 50-100km/hr then goes off on 100+ km/hr.. i badly need help guys, i just got these car like a month ago and i have been driving this for just a week and haven't really enjoyed it yet.

 

i also noticed that its more likely to make noise when i exit on a ramp and merge then that'll make that noise or when i have to make a turn. i suspect my ayc but not quite sure because my oil in ayc reservoir is low.

 

did you fix it?
