BOV Sounds like someone kicked a dog
BOV Sounds like someone kicked a dog
As the title states my turbosmart dual port bov has made some terrible sounds as if someone kicked a dog or tires chirping.
I have used my evo 9 bov as a control, all my vacuum lines are good, the bov is installed correctly, I even took to bov apart to clean and oil it, and on top of that i have played with the spring stiffness. Also I have the bov set up to run full recirc and the sound has not changed.
It does an excellent job at being a bov, it just sounds.. terrible as if something is off..

Well i figured out the problem
turns out the bov was at a couple degree bend so part of the lip of my intake pipe was overlapping with the recirc port of the bov, causing a tiny bit of air to escape between the intake recirc port and the silicon coupler holding the whole shebang together. (God it sounded terrible)
the remedy was i relocated the bov on top of my short route intercooler pipe and just switched the silicon hoses around. Now it sounds like any other bov
