Sorry for jumping into the conversation. i have a question and hoping someone can help me out.
I was driving on the freeway and out of nowhere my car revved up. Now i can shift into every gear with and without pressing the clutch. Car wont move.does it sound like trans or clutch problem. Clutch is 5k mile old.

Sounds like you glazed the new clutch and its slipping now. Time for another clutch! Your clutch pedal might not of been adjusted correctly causing it to drag and slightly slip.

Started car in neutral and let it warm up for about 10 minutes before attempting this, didn't want to strain it too much, lol. After letting it idle for a bit and get oil through the system I shut the car off and started it in first gear. Had clutch pushed in and started it up, gave it some gas and got the car running. It wouldn't move and after about 10 seconds I started hearing a grinding noise, probably clutch trying to break loose or something. THEN the fun began, the car wouldn't even move at all, and I was able to let the pedal off the floor and not give it any gas at all and the car wouldn't die, lol. Then the smoke started coming from the hood scoop area from the clutch burning and I shut the car off.

I put the car into the garage and got it up in the air with front bumper and wheels off before dark last night, was gonna do more but found out I lost my shoplight, so I got pissed and called it a night. Picked up a ton of stuff today (MTF, torque solutions cable shifter bushings, gloves, shoplights, tools, etc..) so I will be getting to work on options 2 and 3 here shortly.

Option 4 has been replaced with Comp stage 2 after talking with my other job and having a meeting with the Comp clutch rep to find out that they recently started making their clutches MUCH better as of 2 weeks ago. So I can get that for under $400 shipped and that's what I'm going with!
Your clutch isn't stuck, and you aren't having problems with your TOB. You also glazed your clutch or its so worn out its just slipping. You need to just do the clutch swap already. There's no way around it at this point.

Clutch has 9k of daily driving miles on it, never launched or tracked or slipped. EVER. Obviously the TOB is fine as I have full pedal, I have already stated that. The clutch isn't "slipping", I just cannot go into gear. It is probably glazed NOW, since I had that adventure of starting it in gear and making it destroy itself, but that wasn't the issue before. I've had a glazed clutch before, I know what that's like. This is not like anything I've ever encountered.

I just had the same problem brother, exact to a T, ended up being the clutch went on the car but do check the slave cylinder and such but 9 out of 10 it's your clutch, it's as if what you typed I wrote it was the same exact thing that happened to me

Resurrecting an old thread, but same thing's happening to my 03 GSR as the OP. Except mine's a brand new ACT HD with less than 1,000mi on it. When the car's on it's impossible to get into gear. And this happened while driving. I shifted into 2nd with a little gas to get in front of someone, then I heard a noise. Sounded like I ran over a plastic cup. Didn't feel anything, didn't think anything of it, but it never shifted into 2nd. Then I turned the car off, put it into first, tried starting and the car jumped and stalled out. I still have pressure in the pedal so it's not the cylinder. I'm gonna do the steps from the first response, but any other responses are appreciated. Thanks
