Evo 8 Top Speed?

How is the top speed regulated for a stock evo? Drag limited? Or is it cutoff at a certain rpm? What is the topspeed of a stock evo? I have an evo 8 with 400whp. What is the top speed of it assuming I redline it at 7,500 rpm in 5th gear?

I read that already. The FQ400 has 400 crank hp so about 350 to the wheels. Top speed of 175Mph. Drag limited? Rpm limited? Or ecu limited. That is what I want to know.

Just take a drive. If you hit rev limit easily in top gear yur gear limited. This is the case with my X. If your rpms hit a brick wall in the middle of your power band then it's governor. If you can't figure this out because you run out of road then you are power/aero limited or just not really trying.

It's ECU limited and can be removed with ECUFlash.

175mph comes at 7500rpm for the stock EVO 8.

175mph comes at 7500rm for the stock EVO 9

192mph at 7500rpm with the 4.11 EVO 8

so to answer it is rpm limited.

The stock tune limits the top speed to ~310 mph. Might as well be any number.

I've had mine over 175, unless I have different gearing this is incorrect. Yes this was on a closed section.

sorry meant 165mph on the EVO 9.

could be gearing or tire diameter or even speedo error as they are rarely accurate and they almost always read at a higher speed.

the mph/rpm chart is listed at several websites and i took the info straight from the chart.
