competiton clutch ?

Whats the difference between the old comp clutch ($338) and the new comp. Clutch $(450) p/n 5152-2100 is? Besides price obviousely. I was told by nolimitmotorsports that the pressure plate is stronger on the new one. Is this worth the price difference? Does anyone reading this have experience with the two? Is their a reason they strenthened their pressure plate? I mean i know stronger is usually better but idk. Is this new clutch a big improvement on the last? Just wondering if spending the extra $100+ is worth it. Im sure it probably is but just figured this thread might help others with the same question. I did search for answers already but may have missed a thread so i apologize if this has been covered and if it has please feel free to paste the link. And ill have this thread closed.

I'd definitely go with the new Comp clutch simply because there has to have been a reason for them to have revised it in the first place. Maybe old Comp clutch owners tried to push more power and the pressure plates couldn't handle it. The revised pressure plate will probably allow for more power to be held in a more reliable fashion. Ultimately, I'd for the revised version.

heres a huge review on the new comp clutch. Enjoy! Also search on Amazon for this clutch. Found it as low as 420 with free shipping.

Not ture friend has the older model on 400+wtq stage 3 holds great and over 30k and had 40k before that. I would still get the newer one as others have said. I trust comp clutches they are a good company. And lets be honest even if your installing them yourself for 100 bucks thats cheap for just a little extra security. Kinda the same thought on head bolts on stock block.

Though I personally would take clutchmasters over comp everyone who has used both generally calls them a knock off of clutchmasters and Id rather get the real deal. IMHO. But if moneys tight I would get the comp clutch and never look back its still a good clutch as a lot on here will say. But I have heard their throw out bearing is weak a lot suggest replacing with oem.

the old part number is 5106-2100
the new part number is 5152-2100

Besides the fact that the old part is no longer available, the new one will hold more power.

I have the new one. About 3500 miles on it. I did the reasearch before buying it. I got the stage 1 instead of the ACT heavy duty. Personally, Im not impressed with it. Its not terrible, but I get high RPM lockout worse than my stock clutch and any slip at all it stinks pretty bad. It does have plenty of holding torque for my power level. Ive done 10+ launches with it.
