Boost controller and cam questions

I have a greddy profec b spec 2 I took off my 240 and put on my evo, the boost controller was working fine on the 240 but now I can't get it to regulate boost on the evo at all, even when it over boost, the car doesn't boost cut, it just keeps going, possibly the greddy boost solenoid is bad?? And for the cams, I'm about to replace my oil filter housing and since I'm gonna have to remove some pulley and a belt I was thinking about going ahead and doing them, would I have to get a tune as soon as I install them (272's) or could I wait till after I break in my clutch to get it tuned? If it'll run like crap til I get it tuned if rather wait. Any positive opinions, tips, or advice would be appreciated!

How were you controlling boost on the Evo before you installed the PROFEC B? Why not go back to the previous setup if it was functional just for the meantime, at least until you sort out the overboost issue, just to avoid damaging the engine.

Exactly what 272 cams are we talking about here? Probably you will need to have the car tuned to optimize any benefit from the cams and running higher boost levels. Incidentally, does the car have a higher flow fuel pump installed? Or are you still on the stock pump?

It had no boost controller, when I bought the car it had a tbe and intake and was already tuned by a local tuner, but I found the problem on why it wasn't controlling boost when I changed out my clutch, the vacuum hose running from the wastegate into the boost solenoid had a tear in it, replaced it and I haven't ripped on it yet to see if it really was the problem cause I'm breaking in the clutch. And I have BC 272's but I decided to wait until right before getting tuned to put them in, and yes I'm running a walbro 255

It did have a boost controller. The stock bcs. Try hooking that back up until you can get the greddy installed properly and a new tune.

Where's the stock boost controller?? The ecu?? Cause from the factory the wastegate is connected directly to the J pipe with a T fitting??

And I'm not even worried about it cause the clutch won't be broken in for another two weeks so I'm not going into boost anyways, I'm more than positive it was that torn vacuum line, won't know until I rip on it

No, from the factory the lines from the wastegate and compressor cover go to the stock bcs and the ecu controls the boost. If you have a line running from the wastegate to the compressor cover then all you will see is wastegate pressure.

Hammered it yesterday cause I hit 500 city miles on the clutch and the boost controller worked just fine, it was that cracked vacuum hose, just giving an update
