precision turbo question

I drive an evo viii
264 cams
Intake
Injen piping
Full open 3" ex
Forge bov
Wally 255

Has anyone had any experience with the entry level turbos on extrmem psi from precision???

I was looking at doing an evo 9 Turbo swap as it is my dd..
But if any of these will have the same power as the 9 they are new and only a couple hundred more than the 9....it says the turbos are rated 350-450 depending in which one

I'm thinking reputable company
Warranty
and a good dd

For that power level, every single person that answers in here will say do FP Green or Red or MAP EF2 or EF3 due to the broader powerband.

It may just be $900 for the turbo, but then you have to factor out the additional costs involved.

Exhaust manifold, o2 housing, downpipe, lower intercooler pipe, water/oil lines, and wastegate.

What you are saying is very true!
I'm thinking 1300! By the time its said and done...
The only thing I would need is a new o2 housing..just to make full 3"
I think one of them has a mitsu option with internal wg

750cc will not be able to handle e85 and will barely get you past 400whp. I would recommend 1100cc at a minimum for a replacement injector.

What level of power are you looking to actually achieve?

That's the basis for this thread
......or that's what I meant.

Is if there was any reason to get an actual precision turbo for the same amount of money
Rather than buy an 9 and rebuild it

As stated above, you may get the turbo for cheap but you need a full kit. Any full kit is typically going to run you around $3000+ new if its with a $900 turbo. Wastegate, manifold, o2 housing, downpipe, oil lines, coolant lines ($900 seems like journal bearing turbo territory), etc etc.

Sure you'll have a full kit then for future and you can just swap a bigger turbo in when the time comes if you want, but doing either an IX turbo or a stock appearing upgrade makes more sense right now in all seriousness for the power you want to reach. A T3 turbo at 400whp was a great idea in 2003. Today, the stock frame variants really rule at 400, 500, and even 600whp and in a few instances, 700whp.
