Got a cool phone call from Mellon Racing. It's always great to talk to him. (no homo) He gave me some good insite. Also told me some stuff I didn't know. It's always good to learn more about my evo and there motors. Thank you Mellon. I think I am most likly going with a Stander Rod 2.0L build. Manely TT Rods with Wisco HD1400 piston (10:1 most likey)

Many reasons. 2.0 can take more RPM's, The Rod angles are more an up and down motion. Where the 2.3 doesnt have a good rod angle. Thats the reason why the 2.3 cant go that high in RPM's. The 2.0 seems to have more records for 1/4 mile and stuff. The 2.0 has proven it's self over and over again. And also 2.0 seems to last longer. Also I have a big framed turbo where I need the RPM's to make it shine.
You don't need 750-800 to go 9's. at 600-625whp that should be enough to go in the 9's if you can drive it. what gives you a boner over this 6466 turbo? you can build a 2.3 or a 2.0 with the black and go 9's. i personally HATE Precision turbo's I've seen to many take a crap for no reason at the worst possible times. then when you go to change them the flange that the DP bolts to is different that EVERY OTHER turbo on the market. I'll never own a precision. keep the black or get an HTA86.

Ok i have been looking for a 10:1 comp piston. I wanted to get Wisco 1400 HD in std bore but is seems that they don't have them in 10:1. How much of a difference would it be if i bumped it up to 10.5 comp? I am going to have 2 maps one for e85 the other for 93oct. the 93oct is only if I can't find e85 pump around town and I have to use 93. last resort map. There is only one e85 pump in Fort Myers,FL
Just like many other members of this forum, I'm a fan of displacement. With that respect, you can get the same R/S as a 2.0L by destroking a 4g64 into a 2.2L, and still gaining a half a liter of displacement over the 2.0L.
If you're spending the time and money to do a build, that's the route I would personally go.

I was going to go with a standard bore because the motor only has like 11k on it. I know this because I know the owner of this motor and he had it taken out and replaced with a AMS 2.3L back in the day @ AMS.

So much misinformation in this thread. With Precision's JB line it is not if but when it was going to explode, but with their CEA DBB line, nearly everyone is having great success. Precision used to have some quality control issues that seem to have been taken care of a while back.
