Really need to retune after Megan Manifold install?
Don't listen to the people regurgitating the useless info that's been fed to them by the vendors on this forum.
The Megan manifold does gain power. But you won't see it unless you have it retuned. It shifts the spool characteristic of the turbo and powerband towards the higher RPM's.
If you installed it and drove it without a tune, it will feel like it loss power. Onced you get it retuned, the boost hit won't be as hard, but it will make more power.
You also have to realize that you bought a cheap mass produced product with most likely very little quality control check. Make sure before you install it to inspect it inside and out and clean up the ports.
The Megan manifold is not for everyone, but nowadays, not everyone is going to have $700 for an exhaust manifold. So as long as you know the facts (not rehashed opinions) and deal with them, you'll be ok.
Happy modding, and have fun. It's your money, do as you wish.

Great advice buddy, I just don't want my engine to blow if its not tuned or so. I guess I will just stick to my cast iron bulletproof manifold.
depending on your mods, I wouldn really worry about a retune right away... Especially if you are running at a stock or near stock boost level. My car had a 3" turbo back, intake, and mbc when I got it, I threw on a megan manifold and ams licp with no retuning and ran it like that for over 15k miles with no issues. Just get a wideband and make sure the afr is good and that you are not getting any knock and you will be good. You may or may not gain anything without a tune, but its not likely that it will damage the motor. Also, Mine has lived at 30+ psi on a stock 8 turbo for going on 4 years now with no cracking what-so-ever. My buddy has one that he has put over 50k miles on it daily driving and road racing with not even a hint of failure. Just be sure to get an o2 housing that uses the factory hard mount to take some load off it and you are good to go!
I'm making about 420whp, I have a tomei o2 housing and I'm really interested in the Megan manifold. I just don't want my car to go out of wack or the motor blowing for running too lean or so. I am not worrying about the manifold cracking
