Comp has done it again an even better Stg 2 clutch option
so would you pick the CC stage 2 over the exedy stage 1 anyday? Just wondering because my stock clucth is about to give up on me and debating whether to get the CC stage 2 or the EXEDY stage 1.
I would get the CC stage 2 over the Exedy stage 1. The Exedy was great, held my power fine, but couldn't hold anything for a launch. Haven't launched the CC stage 2, but hear it holds much better. Both are great clutches, but I wanted something with more holding capacity.
The purpose of this thread was the unsprung which is much better then the sprung at high rpm shifting.
I would do this clutch over a Exedy twin since they have upper plate warping problems that will cause clutch dragging and lock out.
You are right in you cant compare this to a 7.25in twin in abuse and shifting but as a better alternative to current single disc its a great option at a good price.
There is no perfect clutch yet but comp and us are working on it.

trans 37k and yes. I had an OS Giken twin in my last evo. I didn't realize how good it was until my last few years of this. I think next time I will go with the quartermaster 8-leg, and freshen up the tranny for good measure and be done with it.
I got ya. Just sharing my opinion and experience on the sprung version of this clutch. This might swing a few people over to the unsprung version as this clutch can experience the dreaded lock-out in the sprung version.

I am in the market for a new clutch as the triple now has around 40K on it, but no launches, not slipping yet so just in the market... Would this be a viable option for a DD 2.4 with around 550HP, or do I need to look at other options such as the QM 8 leg?
I'm really keen to try an unsprung stg 2 clutch, but i'm concerned about the torque holding ability.
I'm running a 2.3 with stock turbo and 4.111 final drive.
I'm currently about 400whp, with the hopes to run up to 500whp in the near future.
It is used on the street, and I will be using it for road racing soon.
I've got a 3400lb pressure plate, and trying to decide between the stg 2 or stg 3 clutch plate.
Have English Racing tried the stg 3 disc?

They did offer a replacement flywheel that was a little lighter than stock. I will track down the part number and cost.
You know I am not 100% sure. I will find out though and post back.
