Seeing as how those use different turbine wheels there would be some difference there but again without knowing every single detail about your car it's impossible to give an accurate number.

500-1000RPM best guess.

You're mostly correct, if you were to send me a EVO VIII turbo w/ 10.5 TH to be upgraded to a 71HTA I would use the turbine housing and turbine wheel everything else is scrapped. If you were wanting to go to a Green or larger the only thing I would reuse would be the turbine housing. So it's not really much cheaper to just buy a Green or 71HTA out right than to upgrade since the majority of the turbocharger is replaced.

Or am I way off? Can we send our stock IX turbos in to get modified or something?
Yes we can do a 71HTA upgrade to a stock IX turbo. Essentially what we do is do a full rebuild on your turbo, install our 71HTA wheel, and either machine your compressor cover or replace it with an 84MM surge ported cover. This bumps the flow rating up to 51LB a minute. It's a great +1 upgrade.

I'm just looking for around ~425whp or so. What one would you recommend if I sent mine in? Are all the Reds BB now?
*trying to stay on a budget if possible
Thanks
Red BB upgrades are by far our most popular upgrades.

Are you trying to do that on 91/93/E85?? If on 91/93 I probably won't go smaller than a Green but that's without knowing the rest of your setup. If you're running E85 or race gas or something you can actually get by using a 71HTA. However if you have a really really efficient setup you might be able to hit that number on a 71HTA on pump.

All Reds are now Ball Bearing yes.

So a 71HTA built from an evo8 10.5 will still be rated for 51lb/min w/o the 84mm cover? $650 + porting?

Have a question for you Mike.

I have a brand new JB Red that I want to send in for the BB upgrade. Is there a form on your website I have to fill out and include inside the box with the turbo that has all my contact info? Do I need to call after I check out on your website to get some sort of Return Authorization Number from someone internally at FP to write on the outside of the box? Just trying to make sure my brand new turbo doesn't get mixed up and misplaced in any way. Not saying anything negative about FP, just want to make sure ive got my bases covered to make it as smooth as possible. Thanks in advance.

Began removing my engine tonite in preparation to install a 2.4, found a decent amount of oil in my compressor housing, both inlet side and coming out of the discharge. No obvious signs of shaft play. Also a tiny bit on the turbine housing clamp, looks to be coming from the turbine side.

I am guessing it is from excess crankcase pressure, and intended on changing up my pcv system anyway.

Concern is, once the backup issue is resolved, will the leaking eventually cease?

I have a question about installing a JB black on my Evo 8. The car already has an old school FP Green on it. Here's the line that came with it and the filter. The braided line is wearing through in spots, so I need to replace it obviously. Can I buy just the line? And is this the correct inline filter for a JB black? It doesn't look like it would bolt up properly to the turbo.

I shouldn't need a complete evo 9 install kit because my car already has an FP Green on it, correct?
Thanks!

Michael, what turbine housing were you using on that 3076HTA - T3 single scroll?, a/r?, turbine outlet type?

Have you guys looked at improving the design of the wheels for the FP Black?

IE - extended tip compressor? Different matierials (ie lighter)?? Bigger wheels?

Yes but it will still use an EVO 9 stock appearing cover.

Just fill out that form and send it in and we'll get it taken care of. Even if a turbo gets here with no info on it we don't just throw it away it'll sit until we can identify who's it is.

If the leaks is caused by the turbocharger itself you will have excessive shaft play, so if you don't have shaft play the turbo is not the issue and it's undoubtedly an external system impacting the turbocharger. That being said if you take care of that issue then it will not leak.

Do not run that line that filter is a .03X restricted filter and is made to be used with our ball bearing turbos. You need the .125 unrestricted filter which can be found at the link below. The line looks correct but you don't have all the line in one picture. below is a link to the line we sell with all the components laid out if you have everything in the picture then you should be fine.

As for the install kit depends on the model of Green we did make some using EVO 8 turbos a long time ago but the odds are you already have an EVO 9 Green.

I was using our DSM housing which shakes out around to .71 A/R.

We're always looking at ways to make a better mouse trap.

We do support our military but we do not have a standard military discount. I will look into implementing one.

Do you guys sell the BSP - An adaptor needed to put the line on the oil filter housing? Also what is the length of the short bolt that blocks off where the oem oil line runs to the head.

What sort of machine work is involved in the turbo speed sensor install? I'd like to save down time and install locally. Also does it have an analog out on it?

I bought the bolt for a non turbo lancer to block that off. The bsp fitting from a hydraulic store online.

I have an HTA3582r and I'm building a 2.4LR. What is the max boost the turbo can handle and what Hp am I looking at with my built 2.4lr built head with kelford 272s and e85? I'm currently running a .63 turbine housing but will be switching to an .82 on the 2.4. Should I run a larger turbine housing
