What to check/do prior to tune

For the last 4 months Ive done more reading/research on the evo than when I was back in school. My appt is wednesday in twin cities (4hr haul) and Im trying to get everything out of the way before I make the drive.

I made a list of what Ive done so far:
-Compression test 165psi across the board, + or - 5 psi
-all the fluids, leaks, tire pressure is good
-zip tied ALL the vacuum lines
-made sure all the gauges work properly
-boost leak test done to 30psi, no leaks

I made about 200 miles on the motor (untuned) so I could check if there was any leaks, injectors and fuel pump were not in at the time. Just dropped them in yesterday and made sure the fuel pump primes, i turned it over a couple of times also, left the ignition on and made sure the injector o rings are not leaking fuel.

Anything else you guys would check info would be appreciated

If dyno tuning, I always check lugnuts and condition of tires. Double check everything under the hood. Battery is mounted tight, MBC/EBC mounted, and check radiator fan. Make sure coolant is bled correctly. Easy way to check fan is to idle the car for 10-15 mins. Retighten turbo manifold. Check battery terminals, are they corroded? Make sure you bring all your wastegate springs, and MBC springs. Just in case. Since its a little of a drive, Id bring tools as well.

Do you plan on speed sensity tune? E85? Wise to drain tank for E85 fill, and if you are going Speed density, upgrade your Map sensor or bring it along.

165 on a IX??
from what I have read (3 different threads on evom) and done on my own that is oddly high.. Most are in the high 140 to 150...Mine and the one I just sold were 144, 150, 147, 145 and my new one is 150, 152, 148,150.....I know the IX always read lower than the VIII too

sounds like you are set.

as a side note, how the heck did you get 165 psi on the cylinders for a MIVEC. Is it a dang near new engine that was hot and wet in the cylinders?? MIVEC standards are closer to 145 psi.

Poured small amount of oil in each cylinder, had fuel pump unhooked otherwise I wouldnt have done that.

Its just weird. Even wet, it should still be around 145 psi. Non-MIVEC's have a standard of 165 psi.

Check list looks pretty thorough....stock clutch though? I wouldn't put that much faith in it with your mod list/potential power capability..

Did you get to the dyno yet? How much torque did you make? Tranny hold up?
