Good Exhaust for EVO IX
I hate saying this..... use the search button for this one. Find some sound clips. Half of the sudjestions here are terrible. No muffler strait pipes, not what you want. If you want quite, the hks hi power mentioned above is a good exhaust. My friend has one. If you want good flow and low noise, the rre stealth exhaust is great. I have a greddy evo2 with a resonated test pipe to keep it quite.

you can make any exhaust quiet with a resonated test pipe and muffler, but yet all these suggestions are useless and terrible
My Bad... the HKS exhausts I made mention to we're without catz or resonated pipes. ^ But he's right you should be able to search for sound clips and find what you're looking for bro.
i want more of a deep throaty sound, im not looking necessarily for quiet, but just a nice reasonable priced exhaust, any more pics and videos of the cars with diff exhausts would be nice! THANKS FOR EVERYONES INPUT!
lets also keep in mind I live in CT so i want to be able to pass emissions every 2 years so i can keep a plate on the car and i know those o2 sensors can cause alot of problems....is it possible to get 450-500 HP out of a evo IX stock and still be able to pass emissions just with bolt on parts?
False. I had the same resonated test pipe with my first exhaust w/muffler. It gave me headaches the drone was so bad. Not to mention the noise it made when you got on it. I changed the cat back and it was a totaly different car.
Some cat backs have resonators built into them. Some don't. If you're looking to avoid the cops, a downpipe to a electric cutout and then the stock cat back is a good option too. That way you can make the power you want, when you want to make power, and be quite when you don't need to be loud.
