Logging turbo speed with the Garrett kit.

Does this kit have an analog out? Able to be logged by a spare adc in the stock ecu?

Damn, I didn't understand the square wave business in the instructions

What kind of logging is needed to do this? Would it be a serial out put that evoscan can pick up?

You need a digital input that can count pulses. There is a gauge available from Garrett for turbo speed if that helps. Anyway maybe some electronic guys here can make device that make the digital input come out as a 0-5 V ie 0v = 0 rpm and 5v = 500.000 rpm and someone can make it work in Evoscan?
Btw I use it on my Vi-PEC ecu. Wired directly to a Digital Input. Works great

That's why I'm wondering if I can use a serial cable and log in evoscan. I need to test and verify my sas/als settings. Via shaft speed

I wonder if you could use the MAF input after converting to speed density. It is a square wave input that counts frequency after all.

Might have to hook into the IPW routine and pull the frequency out before it gets converted into an airflow reading which then gets over-written by the SD patch. I think the IPW section counts the total number of pulses per interrupt and converts it into a load. It grabs counter time also and at some point it gets converted to a frequency.

Already on sd,

Good ideas , not enough pull for a guru however.

So this isn't something that could be logged via independent serial cable? I'm not familiar enough with electronics to understand.

I could always look at the gauge but that has inherent risks.

You could probably get somebody on the board to build you a simple frequency to voltage converter. You could probably even find one already built if you look hard enough. It would be a very simple circuit.

You could also build something based on the Arduino.

I have a Arduino UNO that I'm learning .

I planned to use it for my sas solenoids, but maybe it could do all of that and I could even shut the solenoids off based on shaft speed
