I got a clutch Question(on Exedy triple)

So, I rebuilt my motor and in the process I replaced clutch with Exedy triple. Driving the car off the line I get a rubbing sound. The slower I let out the clutch the louder the sound. If I do not give it any gas just off of idle the sound is virtually non existent. I thought it was my motor mounts so I replaced all the motor mount, but sound still there. When my stock clutch went out on me I replaced it with a no name 6 pluck clutch and it made the same sound. When we dug in to it we realized the rear motor mount bolt was loose. None the less, I replaced the clutch with ACT street clutch and sound went away. The common denominator is the no name 6 pluck and the Exedy triple do not have springs. My question is the sound normal or should I dig in to see if there is something not right. Has anyone else had this problem?

I mean, getting a rubbing sound in a car could be a million things.

If the clutch was installed properly, and everything torqued, then there shouldn't be any issues obviously. But that isn't really your question haha.

Presumably you're sure that this isn't just clutch noise while it's engaging?

Are you running Exedy triple? I want to hear from someone running this clutch. its almost a howling/rubbing sound. I had someone say launch it a couple of times, but if the sound is not normal I do not want to ruin anything.

Usually just in 1st gear? It's called "clutch bark" if just in lower gears usually starting from a standstill. Seen many cars with it and heard of many people with it on multi plate clutches. My triple does it too

if it's a "whooop" or wooot, then you are probably good. I assume slipping the clutch longer means a longer whooop sound? I wouldn't be concerned.

I have a double and the drivetrain is much louder than stock. Take a peak at the docs that came with the clutch. I'm fairly certain that they call it out pretty specifically.

If it is indeed clutch engagement, you cant blip the throttle or hold the revvs while letting the clutch out. You need to simultaneously feed in the throttle while letting out the clutch. You wont get that sound then.

Essentially, see the throttle like youre trying to drive away in an automatic car. You want to accelerate, you feed in the throttle progressively. Do that while letting out the clutch properly and you wont hear that hooting sound from the clutch on engagement. I had an Exedy Triple HR in my car.

My Exedy twin made all kinds of noises for the first year I had it. It howled and all sorts of sounds when initially engaging it. It still clatters at stop lights and in between 1-2 shifts.

I think it's an inherent feature of multi-disc clutches.

It is. Decel noise is normal, chatter with the pedal depressed is normal and between shifts, but engagement howl/barking can be controlled by feeding the throttle in instead of holding it in one spot or blipping it while feeding the clutch out

My exedy twin moans/groans and whines when I casually engage it. It is silent when I baby it as well as when I'm being aggressive/slipping it. This is common.
