helllllp info for a noob

just bought an 03 evo. and it has a few upgrades. injen intake with all after market piping for the intercooler, cattless turboback exhaust. and it has a manual HBC boost controler. now im afraid to mess with this, ive never owned a vehicle with one. i know it isnt turned down all the way. now im not sure where im sitting at psi wise. not really sure how to read the stock boost gauge. but it goes up to .1 then when i let off it lays down inbetween -.05 and -.1, does this sound correct?

At a guess probably displaying 1 bar which is about 14.5 PSI. nice and safe. Could always pick up a guage the reads in PSI and use all the same tubing etc

What about the -.1? does that sound safe? what is the negative part of the gauge for?

When the engine is not under boost, it is under vacuum. That's what the negative is for.
