I did not. The wave springs do nothing really with MonoLoc except make it harder to uninstall. Practice on a clutch outside the car with the tob and you will see what I mean.

We have a local guy who is on an Exedy Triple, he literally popped his clip 3 times in a row like it was nothing. He got the Mono-Loc when it was first released from STM, and has not had one issue since. I know that during install, if you don't get the trans into the clutch just right, you can damage the fingers on the clip, I think thats where alot of peoples issues are coming from

ok perfect, yea I had a twin and now a triple no problems ever with the wedge collar. Prob because I checked my clutch fork weekly ha! So I didn't want to install this monoloc and have that thing pop out and break. I have had great success with the factory one. But if this on cant pop im going to use it 100%

hmmm, I just installed mine tonight and I was having issues with the throwout bearing clipping into the monolock. Seems like I still have a small gap between the bearing and the lock collar, like I'm not getting enough throw out of the fork to fully engage it...

I gave up after 10 mins

installed mine today. was perfect.. To lock it in, you have to really snap it hard. Harder then the stock one. Give it a good push and it should lock in

What clutch (pressure plate) are you using?

I've read on an Rx7 forum these may not work with CM FX clutches

That sure would make me a little upset

I got my car tuned last month and did a NLTS on the way home and it popped on the stock collar. Ordered a Monoloc from STM and installed it a week later and I haven't run into any issues yet. This is on a Exedy Twin also. Better to have this than dropping the tranny just to fix a stupid clip

I have one of these, very cool gadget indeed. I spoke with the ACT guys at the 86 fest yesterday, great guys, very knowledgable and they know their products well... They do not recommend putting extra "wave" rings/clips, I asked because I know many people do this, particulary us Evo guys. This was pointed out already, by batty200, just solidifying his point.
