Thumbs up QuarterMaster 8leg Street -- Amazing

So first off thanks to MAPerformance, my old QM 6leg was slipping on the dyno on Sunday. Monday morning I called them, and they shipped me out the new 8leg next day. Wednesday car is back on the dyno. As usual MAP was there to deliver, thanks.

Now for the review of the new 8 leg.

AMAZING, is really the only word.

Engagement is 1000% better than the 6 leg version, very streetable
Cherping when taking off is much better
Decel noise is reduced by a huge amount

I would say this is very close to a Exedy Twin

you might want to consider this style of disc gets VERY grabby with breakin. so of course you will notice great smoothness with new vs very broke in. the material in the 8 leg is marginally smoother. there are a myriad of posts on the 8 leg where people dont like them for daily driving. its a hard clutch to live with for most. great clutch for fast shifts, drag racing, and holding massive torque.

1000% better just seems way deceiving to me.

Add the clutch solenoid from the 2nd gen DSM and its daily driveable. Best mod I made ever.

yeah, but every clutch gets smoother with that reservoir. so its not so keen to compare clutches that are using it to ones that aren't. I had a quarter master twin in one of my cars. I hated it. tried the reservoir and it definitely helped. so I hated the clutch less. took it out three weeks later in favor of a smooth carbon twin. eight years and going strong this clutch will last me my lifetime,

Does anyone have any extensive experience with road racing on this clutch? Im curious to hear their feedback as well. I am weighing clutch options at this point... I appreciate everyone's feedback.

I was road racing on my 6leg. I am not the fastest person at the track, but I go to have a good time. I did not have any issues with the 6leg version, so with the 8leg version being even smoother it should only make running around at the track even better. Once you get past first gear you are normally ok. So far the new 8leg still feels so much smoother than the 6leg version.

Thanks for the info. How did the clutch hold up with the road racing? Was it in need of rebuild very quickly? Its a hard decision hearing things back and forth from people with twin and tripple carbons and the qm. I also hear differing opinions about the cerametalllic clutches as well

I recently went from a 6leg to an 8leg street and it is sooooo much better. I feel like my car isn't a POS anymore.
