whine while in boost, possible turbo shaft play?

Hey guys, I just bought a 03 evo 8 and while I was test driving it, I herd a whine while boosting, it felt a little under powered so I thought it was a boost leak. Long story short I smoke tested it no boost leak and the reason it was running slow was it had bad spark plugs. Im thinking this whine might he turbo shaft play, runs fine while not in boost, aand even pulls well while its boosting. Any thoughts? Really not in my budget to by a new turbo

Also I had a hole in the turbo coolant line I think thats what might have lead to shaft play. Just want some second opinions thanks guys
