is tuning a must after a cam install!?
is tuning a must after a cam install!?
im sure this thread has been bought up a million times but i cannot find the answer im looking for.
i know that to gain top results tuning is a must! BUT if i were to install HKS 272's into a VII that has already been flash tuned, walbro 255 lmh, upgraded fmic with pipes, exhaust (210kw at the wheels) can i escape without a tune after the cam install? or is it to risky???

Didn't we JUST answer this not long ago in another thread?
Yes, you'll want to get your tune checked, but there's no problem driving around in vacuum and not pushing the car hard.

Eventually get one, yes. I've been running kelfords since July with no problem. Zero tune after 30k miles with current mods and zero issues. I'm very fortunate that it's still together.
I am in no way advising anyone to do what I did but you should be ok for a bit until you can get a tune.
It's a good thing I don't drive a subie

Your idle may be a little screwy too, but if you have ecuflash you can simply add a few degrees of timing in the rpm/load areas at idle and that will smooth it out.
