From a 2.3 to a 2.4 ----> Spool difference?

I have a built 2.3 and I'm wondering if it was swapped to a 2.4 and I kept all things the same what would the spool difference look like? I currently have a TS 35R and see full boost around 4000-4200 RPM.

difference is about 65cc. I would expect 50-100rpm. if that.

It's even less if you bore out the cyl (often to save the block on rebuild).

Interesting. I didn't realize it was such a small difference. Thank you for the info guys!

I would only switch if the 2.3 fails and takes out the block. If you over bore the 2.3 to 86.5mm it is identical displacement just shorter/lighter pistons. Both have advantages and disadvantages. What you end up with is usually decided not by goals but by situation such as availability of a core block. Only benefit to a 2.4 block for you is slightly longer rods on a 2.4LR but there are a few issues with install of a 2.4 I wouldn't swap from a functioning 2.3.

All I can say is that with my 2.4 long rod motor and an fp green, my car feels like an NA car. There is no spool time, it's just instant. I am hitting 27psi by 3800 rpm

Yeah, but what fuel are you running? What would this setup put down on crap 91 octane?

Ok, I probably will just leave the 2.3.

I've seen a few builders, including Buschur, say more than once that they've never met a 2.4 that they liked. What are they not liking about these motors that other builders like those at English, don't seem to mind?
