What clutch should I go with?? Please help!
Im looking to throw a new clutch in my evo but having trouble deciding which one to go with..
I have an evo 9 mr with a built shepherd 5 speed trans. Im pushing about 600awhp with about 450-500lbs of torque. The car will be seeing its fair share of track days/launches(5 or so a year).
Ive been looking at the quartermaster 8 leg street and the 8 leg race. The only concern I have about these clutches is that driving on this clutch would be a bi*ch.
Id appreciate the input about the 2 clutches named above or any other clutch that would fit my needs. Thanks!

When it comes to these cars, it's mostly about what holds power, good drivability is just a bonus. Anything more comfortable than the quartermaster would be an Exedy twin, want to hold more power and be somewhat comfortable then you get a triple. But with that comes more $ to spend of course. And some transmission noises which I heard most and are tolerable for needing a clutch to hold the power.

I had a quamarmaster twin disc race in my 768 hp evo. That clutch was rock solid. Very much recommend it for a race clutch. As for a driving Clutch, it Made My Left Calf Muscle Get Huge Because The Pedal Was So Stiff. It made a lot of noise when trying to take off in first gear if you didn't launch. Like just on the street. It was super loud. Squealing noises and all from hell until it was fully engaged. Then shifting up to every gear on the road made a slight squeal until full engagement. If I was building a race car I would recommend that. Otherwise maybe look at something more street friendly. Not sure about evos but I know spec makes amazing twin disc's for 2011 civic Sis. I know that from experience.
triple is noisy but engagement is fine (to me) and its going to hold what ever you give it. my friend had a twin exedy and only made around 550 with a step tranny and was getting locked out on the street…. he went for the triple now
