Hey guys building a 2.3 with a DBB 6262 using a stock intake mani...

Whats the limit of the stock intake manifold.
Am trying to get anywhere between 550 and 600whp

 

You'll be perfectly fine at that power level even on a non ported stocker.

 

Yeah it seems that it's hard to beat an ported stock intake manifold.

 

port it and save yourself the money. Most you'd gain out of a bigger manifold would be 5ish hp and lose tons of spool.

 

For the price of what an OEM ported mani runs I would pick one up.

Oh wait.....I just happen to have a BR stock ported manifold on my car that is going to be listed for sale later today

its more a question of efficiency - a stock IM can flow 600 whp worth of air, but it will require more boost than a ported IM or good aftermarket IM.

 

Plenty of Carr's with ported stock intake manifolds making well over 700whp...I'm sure even a few at 800whp

 

I always remind myself that PSI is just a measurement of restriction and not flow. The stock IM will flow, but it'll certainly cause restriction.

I have a stock IM making 500hp @23psi, the only thing done is the throttle body shaft seals. Stock TB also.

 

What setup and turbo?

 

With VD or do you have a dyno sheet from a dynojet or something?
