Hey guys. I just picked up my new Evo a few days ago and Im wasting no time! I wanted to know how good/effective the stock intercooler is for the stock turbo. I plan on having all the bolt on's and figure running about 22lbs of boost at the track. Just wondering at what point does it get heat soaked?

I wouldnt recommened running 22 psi out of the box. Upgrading the intercooler is a nice option but remember the evo comes with water spray for the intercooler, so heat soak isnt rely all that bad on an evo . Unlike the wrx with the intercooler in the hood. An aftermarket intercooler will give you more hp just make the air path to the intake alot more smoother and less turbulent depending on intercooler. I believe Vishnu said the stock evo intercooler is quite effecient.
