Why did FP discontinue the BB turbos. I want a real answer michael at fp. Not some shizz about being busy.

 

Yeah with a recirc and non-recirc option. Non-recirc would be cheap as hell to make.

 

Has anyone tried the MAP downpipe yet?

 

i called yesterday and was told they don't have the parts in right now. they also said that problem should be resolved within the next two weeks.

 

I have their downpipe. I was the prototype.

 

How do you like it? I've installed 2 Fathouse DPs and they are amazing. I just can't wait any longer for them to resume production.

 

Fitment was alright.
I have a 2.4L and I informed them of this. I believed they still built this off the 2.0L which cause alittle bit of clearance issue with the underside of the downpipe vibrating on the chassis.

Another issue was the dump tube. In their pictures they had it lined up along the on the starter side. Well There was NO WAY to line the dump tube up without removing the starter shield. I remove the started shield and it was barely 1-2mm away from the power side of the starter.

I started readjusting all the piping and come to realize that if you put the dump tube on the passenger side. it will actually work! It needs to be trimmed but it is a much positioning rather then the driver side dump. I don't know why they didnt just dump it on that side?

Possibly all these problems could have been caused by the additional +6mm from the 2.4L. Which I clearly told them multple times over the phone and through PM.

 

I was afraid of that^ I have the same issues already with other dp's on my 2.4. I really am planning on going with a bb red ss housing and was glad to see that map offered a map dp, but if there's a fitment issue there (I hate rattles) then looks like I'm back to the drawing board on that plan...unless of course they come to addressing the issue. I do only live a few hours away *cough*Chris Carey*cough*

 

If you order the 2.4L version we add material to compensate for the additional deck height, thus there should be no rattles.

 

I was informed that all of the DPs were built off the 2.4L, thus the crap fitment on my 2.0L. Or, are you just building all of the O2 eliminators off the 2.4L jig. Or more likely, my order was screwed up and that seemed like an easy thing to tell me to cover up an error.

Our website still requires buyers to select their block (2.0 or 2.4) at the time of purchase so that we can compensate for the additional deck height as I outlined above. All of our O2 eliminator downpipes require the use of the spacers that you pictured from your old O2 eliminator, if those were not included with your new downpipe I would be happy to get some sent out to you promptly.

 

I specified the 2.0L and was sent the 2.4L. Your sales person then told me that all of the downpipes they make are only the 2.4L from then on as they fit on both. I already recieved the spacers that were forgotten as part of the order.

 

I apologize for the confusion there, I spoke with my sales staff and they are presently all aware of the different variations based on engine block / deck height.

Just ordered the JB Black with the new SS housing and I plan on getting the MAP downpipe. I'll take pictures and post them up.
