Evo 4 CRANKWALKED

Hey I just bought An Evo 4 off my buddy that had a gross sound in the engine around 2000rpm. I pulled the oil pan and found the crank had been walking a lot, thrust bearing was nearly gone an the crank started wearing into the block. I tossed in mains an rod bearings to buy be sum time while I build an engine.

Has anyone bought any parts from built4g63??? Is there any other parts suppliers out there You'd recommend ? ld like to atleast buy a new short block.

I've also found they changed thrust bearings in the Evo 5 to 3 piece bearing. Can I just change out my 1 piece bearing for a 3 to stop it from walking?

Any feed back would be great thanks!!

What clutch do you have?
Also when starting the car after it sits. Do you press the clutch pedal in?
If yes. I would disable the clutch pedal switch so you can start it with out pressing the pedal.

Probably more important than that initial start with the clutch down is all the hours of wear that could accumulate as you sit a a traffic signal with the car in 1st gear and the clutch pedal down. I trying to train myself to shift to neutral when coming to a stop.

evo 4's are the worst for crank walk.

No worse than evo1-3s as they share the same thrust bearing design.
