Ok guys so today I disassembled the clutch assembly. Unfortunately it looks like it's had some abuse from the previous owner. I've only had it for two months and have honestly never launched it. But anyways can the pressure plate or middle plate be resurfaced?

I'm sure they can both be resurfaced. Alternatively, you can buy a whole rebuild kit for around $800 maybe less. The middle and pressure plate are around $150 each IIRC.

Yeah, I've seen that you can buy the pieces seperately. I like the clutch, aside from the rough engagement and chatter. But that may have been from the TOB being on it's way out I'm not sure. But man $800 is a lot

Then resurface them and just buy the disks

Ok, I ordered a new top plate, intermediate plate, and two new disks. Everything arrived and looks good except for the new top plate. My old one was dished on one side, and got thicker towards the middle. The new one is perfectly flat on both sides. Did I get the wrong part? Only reason I'm unsure is because the old plate looks like it was meant to be like that, it doesn't look like it's been worn down causing the dished surface

May you kindly post the part number for the top plate you purchased?

PP02. I ordered it off of maperformance with the rebuild kit. But on the box for the top plate it has IM02 written on it. But I think that's the part number for the actual rebuild kit?

Yes, correct, you're good to go
As for the thickening part of your previous pressure plate, that could be due to wear. It should be flat from what I recall.

Hmmm, I wonder if somehow the old plate may have been incorrect? Maybe that's why it tore some stuff up lol. I mean I won't disagree and say it's not like that from wear, but I'm almost positive it was machined that way. Also there's a groove in the old top plate that this small ring sets in. The new plate doesn't have a spot for that to ride on

Here's a picture of my old pressure plate showing what I was talking about. It gradually gets thicker towards the inside of the plate then levels off. And where it levels off another piece sits in the groove. I'm stumped because the new pressure plate is completely flat. I called exedy and they were closed so I'll try back tomorrow. Don't wanna put it together if it's not right.
