Forge wastegate help

hey guys, i was seeing if someone could help me out. i dont know if maybe im just losing it but something isnt right.
i just picked up a forge waste gate for an evo 9 turbo. it is the piston style.
my issue is that when i apply compressed air (regulator set to 40psi) to the wg, the arm does not move very far. the stock one moves about a half inch. this one moves maybe half of that. i figured maybe i would give it a try. i put it onto the car and could barely get the arm onto the flapper, applied air to it again and it barely opens the flapper. what do you guys think i am doing wrong or what is wrong with the wg? thanks

And what is the purpose of you doing this ??? When you check a wg you dont apply pressure to it you check it with vacuum. Is it a heavier spring ?

Put it on your dam car and see if it functions? why are you hooking it up to a dam compressor?

Did you buy the actuator new, or used?

The purpose was to see at what pressure the waste gate opens up at. I started at 15 psi and worked my way up. It opens fully between 23-25psi. The reason I did 40 was just to do the functionality of the arm and measure movement. Also I did put it on the car. It would barely open the flapper. Decided to drive it and see what happens, my car spiked 30psi before I let out lol, luckily im running pig rich with 1200 cc injectors. I did buy it used from a member on this forum.

The air compressor allows you to fit it easily when you have higher spring pressure. It sounds like it has a lot of spring in it. Do you know what it's rated for ?

Ok you just answeared you own question! Sounds like its a 25psi wg. When it spiked 30psi you were just running wg pressure ?

maybe you guys are misunderstanding me, im not asking what psi the wg opens up at, im saying the wg arm does not travel very far, hence it barely opens up the flapper. i am running a manual bc set at 25psi. when it spiked 30psi, that was at 3500 rpms, i immediately let out, im sure it would have gone higher. ill up load a video later tonight to show you what i mean

Ok so the wg spring looks like its heavy, with the mbc have you tried to lower the boost or loosen up the wg ? How much are you trying to boost ? You said that you could barely put it on the flapper did you tried to adjust it ?

I had a Forge WGA on my 8 and I have one now on my X.

Excellent part.

The spring for the actuator is 24 psi max.

Adjust the actuator arm by giving it a few more twist at the tip clockwise.
That will increase the arm length and decrease the spring pressure.
Longer arm will open the flap further as well.

The spring pressure is adjustable from 18 to 24 psi.
