Fuel Pump/ Filter

When I purchased my VIII it had a few things previously done to it. One of these things was the fuel pump. I do believe I was told it was a Walbro 255, but am not positive.
Anyways, I am looking at replacing the fuel filter, because my car is almost at 100k miles, and I want to do it as maintenance. Does the OEM filter fit onto an upgraded fuel pump? or Are they specific filters for the pump?

Thanks

The thing on the end of the pump is not the actual fuel filter. Its just a strainer. Its called a sock, and replacement Walbro socks are readily available from many places.

is there an actual fuel filter? I'm getting symptoms of a gross fuel filter, a little studder on first gas. Then it goes away for the day.

Its built into the white (yellow after a while) pump carrier. There is no way to replace it. Instead, the entire pump carrier has to be replaced. I think they are around $150.
