Bang for buck fuel injectors?

Hey there, does anyone have any suggest on what I need and whats the best value.

My goals are sub 400awhp.

Right now im at 320whp running lean.

I've got a catback megan exhaust with cat removed
Megan o2 housing
manual boost control
Injen intercooler pipping

Im naturally assuming injectors are the logical step.

My question is how big do I need to go or should I go. Whats a good brand without breaking the bank.

Also on another side note is increasing my stock intercooler to one of a larger size a worthwhile upgrade. Im not gonna go crazy and go ets or something. I was just gonna grab a generic ebay one.

From everything i've ever see the a fmic is a fmic and the only difference is how good the welding is and how long it will last. I just wanted one to fill up the opening spaces better and give a little more air while looking nicer.

You'll need a single 255 Walbro first, then a set of FIC injectors, anything above 800cc is enough for 400whp, get High Z injectors though, they're easier to tune.

Increasing your intercooler size is a very good investment. Your statement about "a FMIC is a FMIC and the only difference is how good the welding is" is absolutely not true. Entertain yourself with the results from Buschur Racing on the same subject..

Are you running 93 or E85?

Running 93 but I have e85 everywhere around me so having a dual map wouldnt be a bad idea. I just need the ability to switch to a safe tune on 93 whenever traveling.

If I need to get a pump with the injectors which I figured I would i'll probably have to hold out as I've only got around $650 left of play money after fixing some things and replacing my broken o2 housing with the megan one.

I was really looking for some brand suggestions.

Btw I read a really long topic on intercoolers while i posted this.

Pretty sure i'll get a CXracing since its better than stock but not that great. I would like a ETS 3.5 but I just hate paying that much for a piece of metal.

As long as you dont go too big your tuner should be able to get the injectors to idle right. I just bought FIC 1250s for when I am ready for more power.

We both told you FIC... That's an injector brand... Fuel Injector Clinic... And if you're going E85, yes use larger injectors.

FIC's for sure and if you're going to do e85 i would suggest 1000cc or better for sure. consider a walboro 255 or walboro 450 (e85 version) for your fuel needs!

Fuel Injectors

First off FIC is not a brand its a supplier . The brand of injector is Bosch High Z or Lucas low z fuel injectors . Why not take a look at Race Components or Advanced Fuel Injection for the Best BANG For your BUCK they sell the same injector same quality as ID and FIC for less money . Take a Look they have it all . www.racecomponentsinc.com

FIC RCI AFI all great everyone uses bosch injectors and then improves them...
RCI are really good and a great price.

as far as size depends on final power if want over 400ish.. and going e85 i would say anything over 1200cc.. but if eventually more then just go all out FIC 2000 any tuner should make them run as they like.. i went big just cuz i didnt want to buy injectors twice...

Hey Clessy, good question and I'm glad that so many have already shared their success with Fuel Injector Clinic injectors.

We offer the most advanced level of matching and data in the market, providing all the exact data your tuner will need to dial your car in precisely and ensuring the highest level of performance from your injectors, all at a great value. We have a few options for you with both low and high impedance injectors depending on your needs as well as your budget.

Check out this video that gives you a peek at our custom built flow benches that are used to characterize our injectors to precisely match them in to sets and build our Data Match Technology sheets (click to load):

There's a reason so many tuners choose Fuel Injector Clinic with data like this:

I don't want to be too long-winded on the subject but if you want to read a bit more about this, you can see the thread on DSMTuners here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/vend...or-clinic.html

Feel free to give us a call any time to chat at (561) 427-0082!

p.s. to make up for all the reading I just made everyone do, here is some eye candy

Devin at Boostin Performance, nipping at a 7 second time slip using two sets of Fuel Injector Clinic 2150cc injectors (super nice photo from Dan Joy Photo)

Jeff Bush, looking to get into the 7s before Devin does, also running two sets of Fuel Injector Clinic 2150cc injectors

At your power level your not running lean because of your stock injectors. You either have a mechanical issue, a weak fuel pump or the tuning is not right. Injectors are not needed at your power level, stocks are enough. Stock injectors and a walbro 255 or better is good for upwards of 380ish horsepower on a dynojet.

That being said, if you are planning to get up around the 400's and potentially going E85, the FIC's are a great injector, minimum of 1000cc+. You will also need a fuel pump as others mentioned.
