Hello man, hows your swap??? The cm5 is a Lancer gsr 1,800cc right?

I´m in the middle to put a new rear diff in my Evo, but my budget its too low Here in my country I dont have many options, only to bring it a Evo 8/9 rear diff from USA but i like said, its expensive... Do you lnow other way to kit in my Evo 4 (rear diff ratio is 3.312). Maybe an Outlander rear diff?

Still works great after lots of drag racing and autox . Had to rebuild the motor twice, had to change turbo once, clutch twice, 3-4th shift fork , engine mounts, diff mounts but still havent had to change the GSR rear diff or even change the oil as yet. Still works great. very tricky to try to power slide with though...but ive managed to get used to it and even beat rally cars arround some courses.

Also the previous owner has changed the final drive in my GSR gear box to the RS final drive 4.529 to 4.875.

1st gear ratio 3.583

4th fear ratio 1.031

rear diff: 3.307 not sure but found this online
Final Drive: 4.529

My car has approximately 380-400whp and I do drag race it and launch it very hard
so i recently changes my rear diff bushings so afther i got my car back e hear this howling noise from the
back of the car (evo6 gsr)specialy in 4th gear and 5th when i press the clutch it slowly goes away so i was wondering what this could be?

Hello Llew, I’m also swaped a cm5a (helical lsd diff) rear end to my cp9a evo 6 gsr with ayc rear end (ayc diff broken). What I want to ask you, do you know if evo rs lsd fits inside the cm5a rear diff casing ? If it can fit, it will be perfect. I will just buy rs rear diff or may be cusco and install inside to cm5a rear end. Thanks.

I’m looking to buy this diff out of a CM5A 1.8 GSR manual, my Evo 5 GSR still has AYC. After doing some research, people say this style diff is the same as Evo 1-4 and Evo 5-9 mounting points are different. Can someone confirm it’ll fit a Evo 5 too?
