Any fully built 2.0 guys on here?
Ok guys so my Evo 9 pistons are bad (yes it sucks) so I was thinking since the motor is coming out why not do it right and build it. So I would like to know what compression ratio Pistons do you guys recommend? Some ppl say I can use the stock crankshaft is this true? How did you guys do your set up...

Need to know your power goals, and what fuel you plan on running. Stock crank is typically fine.

S1's will be fine to make the 400whp he wants.

He already has the S1's though. Might as well leave them for now. They'll suit the future 500whp goal just also. 600 will be the goal that needs an upgrade.

I bought a bare block from Mitsu dealer, Manley forged crank, Manley Turbo Tuff I beam rods, and AMS Custom spec JE pistons. Have your stock crank inspected by a machine shop before deciding to run it. They are known to have small hairline cracks in them. Last time I checked a fully assembled bottom end was $2500 list price from Mitsu. A stock bottom end will hold 400whp.

What brand internals did you guys go with your build? Manley, eagle ect. Also when I retune it should I stay at 26psi or can I go higher? What about redline stay at 7k?

You're limited on boost due to the fuel you're using. You can only get so much out of pump gas. If it's really good 93 you may be able to get 28 or 30, it's been done before. As for what internals you're going to get different answers from everyone. Some people like aluminum rods, others like steel. Personally I would use a oem 88mm crank, some Manley turbo tuff rods, and some 9.0:1 wiseco pistons. You could even get longer rods and shorter pistons and run a long rod setup which essentially decreases side load on the piston thus will help it live better in the high rpms. people like english racing and buschur have taken their 2.0L's past 10,000rpm. Of course this will be pointless on your car if you're only gonna use the stock turbo.
