MAP performance o2 housing why!??

Whatsup guys, so I've had the map performance o2 housing external dump laying around for a while now and I decided I was gonna use it on the new turbo I'm putting in right now. I'm not sure if it's just me or what but the angle on this thing coming out of the turbine housing just looks way way too sharp to me and it doesnt seem like its lined up very good. I mean the stock o2 housing looks like alot smoother of an angle for the exhaust gasses to go and looks like it would flow much better than the MAP unit. Maybe it's just me but did they make this thing with that sharp of an angle for a reason or is the one I have defective and not fabricated right. The MAP o2 housing looks like it coulda used more of a 90 degree peice of pipe and it would be fine. Heres some pictures below comparing the two on the stock turbo and a garret turbo showing the difference in angles that the exhaust coming out of the turbo will go.. Also why did they put the o2 sensor bung right at the top there and on the stock housing the o2 sensor is way farther down.. Just wondering what anybody else thinks of this because it doesnt seem right to me.. thanks guys.

Its like that for fitment with the dump pipe section. Mock it up on the car and see if it fits. You'll most likely have to bend your AC line a little towards the front of the car. Have fun bolting the downpipe on. Kind of a pain. I ended up using 2 solid bolts instead of the spring bolts.

Think you missed the point of the post. I know it will fit, I'm just saying the angle of the map pipe compared to stock is way way sharper its almost like a V where the stock o2 housing is a nice smooth curve.. Idk it looks like the MAP one would be a little more restrictive than stock and not flow as good.

Im just thinking if the exhaust section of this peice had the same curve as the wastegate pipe section it would flow alot better. Its like bending a hose into a kink instead of a smooth turn, it would be restrictive. I just dont understand why they made this with the angle they did and not more of a smooth turn like the stock housing.

The outlet points out of the housing at an angle. the exhaust really isn't making an abrupt turn. Its also large in diameter. Its an improvement over stock.

Its been proven many times that this will make power over the stock housing. The bend difference is negligible for power since the port flows much better and is larger as letsgetthisdone mentioned.

I personally run this piece and it works well besides slight fitment issues.

well I cant even get this thing to fit anyway even with the a/c line tweeked . Im not sure if its because of the bigger turbo or what but the dump pipe is hitting the a/c compressor and I cant even get the turbo bolted up to the manifold.. Not sure what im gonna do but it looks like if the dump pipe was like a quarter inch over more to the drivers side it would work.. Not sure if its just my pipe or because its a bigger gtx 3071r stock frame turbo.

ATP turbo? That O2 dump is designed to work with an MHI turbine housing. In other words it will work with a stock frame MAP EF 2.5 etc. The ATP housing is clocked differently aside from the exit angularity of the dump and down pipe exits and specific locations being dissimilar. The MAP piece was jigged off the stock turbine housing. Whereas, the ATP housing is way different and convoluted evidenced by all the compromises they made. Just note the awkward jerry rigged actuator rod etc. The ATP housing design makes so many compromises. It is a miracle that they were able to get it to fit in the first place.
