Is it possible to install your own stroker kit?
Just been looking for a project and saw this:

In theory would it be possible to DIY install this kit?

mmmm...so if the bores and head were still in good shape, you wouldnt really need any machining done. you could also install a set of cams and also install your own beehive springs, still without any machining, leave the evo 9 turbo in place, perform your own tune and take advantage of all those extra torqs
all without taking it to a shop?
If you have the tools to measure the cylinder bores, piston clearance, a hone, bearing clearance, etc, yes.
Generally, I have a machine shop do my honing and set piston to wall to what I ask for. I check everything else myself. If the motor is coming apart, you should get the head refreshed (valve job, new seals, etc), and that would require a machine shop.
