How many of you are running stock intercoolers on pump gas (93) with the 71?

Originally I was planning on sticking with the stock intercooler but my tuner recommended 25 psi max on pump gas with this turbo. I'm sure thats partly because its hot/warm hear most of the year.

 

A FMIC is pretty much necessary for any decent PSI. Definitely recommended.

 

Any vids of the fap cover sound????? being in cali sucks so I can't have it be too loud on the street

 

You can hear it whistling real good when I Rev it.

Also before I get made fun of for it, my timing belt cover is now back on the engine. It was only off for me to check my timing marks because it wasn't starting.

For the record once I set the base timing on the aem it fired right up!

That's on a Green, but I'm sure they sound the same.

 

Sounds great, Does it get annoying if you daily it?

What's the reliability on these? Do you really need the FP oil line?

 

It's the best sound ever, for daily driving. It's not THAT loud from inside the car.
FP are one of, if not the most reliable turbo. I would run the oil line on anything Green or larger. I believe FP recommends the same. The HTA71 seemed to do well on the stock line.

 

I cant help it I leaned it out a good bit and took a video of the lope.
I love that lopey idle for stop light intimidation factor haha.

I'll get a video of the whistle Monday when I get home. Again.

 

By loud, I meant audible I guess... definitely more "pronounced"

Well, some people say only ricers like it and that a car should have a solid steady idle... I say you only live once so make it lope!

 

Got my set up tuned the other day didn't make as much as I thought I would. Still waiting on my tuner to email me the logs. Having some idle issues now though that I'm sorting out.

Fairly Conservative tune. Virtual dyno showed 330 awhp and 315 wtq at 27 psi
