Idk...maybe my kelfords are hurting spool a bit...but shouldn't be too much.

Excited to see my plots with the 71hta.
Nevermind, i read your post in a hurry. My mistake.

My White was at 300ftlbs at 3600-3800, so 4k on the Green sounds right. I hear about 200rpm difference in spool. That's fine with me and expected. I also reached peak torque (370ftlbs) around 5k. Sounds to me like the Green and S1 cams will work just great for my application.

I think you should of hit peak torque sooner than that, if I'm not mistaken I've seen others cross 300wtq at 3300-3400 on 93..but your using 91 right?

I think the 71hta should hit peak torque around 3800 with the FAP cover.

I made peak tq @3900 with my 71HTA, pump gas.

However, this was where the turbo overshot target boost by like 1psi, so if you flatten out the spike peak tq seems to be right around 3700-3800

91 sucktane, yeah LOL. It's all my tuner could do with timing with our sucky gas here. If i had cams, IC piping, etc, maybe things would be different, better gas for sure. I have 0 complaints, though. The thing was a beast. Still the best turbo for the street, IMO.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for

And maybe since I have 4.11FD, I may be able to load up sooner

I would imagine the response at 2500 would be considerably better than my hta green.

Yeah, the 4.11s will take longer to accelerate, so you will reach torque earlier in your log. But what in heck do you need response at 2500rpm for?

Here is my graph, actually seeing it may help you more

Cliffs: Stock Block 9, Pump 93, Mustang Dyno, 24psi spike to 23psi out the top

I know, just giving you a hard time.

I started my logs at 2500RPM and never ran the car at the track at low RPM.. so i'm not sure how it did. The boost curve on the logs is pretty nice, though.

It's SERIOUSLY a fun turbo.

Too funny: I still have a brand new HTA71 in the garage, but upgraded to the HTZ Green.

debating on getting the 84mm AFP cover.... sounds like it would hurt spool and low end TQ a bit but help up top and prevent any potential surge issues.

How many of you have the stock appearing cover?

FYI FP is only selling them with the 84mm FAP Covers. If you have cams it will surge on the stock appearing cover depending on which cams you have. Larger cams have more issues than milder cams. If you do pick one up and are hell bent running the standard inlet I have a standard cover I'd let go for cheap.
