Review: FP 71HTA
Yeah, I know if you can keep the torque at high rpms you can make good power, but I'm just curious how much torque you can keep that high in the rpm range if you limit it to 385 and try to keep the powerband wide on the HTA 71. Basically, if the S2 cams are just going push the whole torque curve up then I'd just stick with HKS 264s on E85. I know you can tune to prevent the torque from being too high to some extent, but just haven't seen any examples with the HTA 71, aggressive cams and E85 with torque at 400 or below.
You can do the math and know exactly what is possible horsepower wise per amount of torque at any given rpm: hp = rpm times torque divided by 5252.
What that means in relation to this is that just because you limit torque down low doesn't mean you sacrifice horsepower up top.
What you do sacrifice is power under the curve.

Assuming you have a IX, my results should be similar...hopefully my Kelfords won't push me to too far to the right.
Now the decision...do I use my stock ix turbo housing with 40k miles, or my hta green housing?
Thank you, this falls in line with what I would expect and hope for.

It's a great turbo! You should use your stock IX housing since the 71HTA uses the stock turbine
Ya'll.
KFC went to the strip today. Before on 93 he trapped 114mph.
Today he trapped 119 as a high and did a 11.92@118 with a 1.861 60ft as his best on E85.
Full weight SSL sunroof and leather car with spare and tools out.
Changes from above where a Wally 450 pump (to get fueling back inline) and AFPR.
Here is the log from his drag run. Sharing because I feel people don't share these types of logs enough.

For what it's worth, it's not because I'm unhappy with the white. The white is the best turbo I've ever owned, but my car is road race focused and the Green won't have to work as hard.
If I were daily driving my car, with occasional track day use, no way would I have gotten rid of my white.
I just sold mine with just a few hundred miles on it. You coulda saved some cash LOL. I'm moving up to the new HTZ Green.

Yeah, I'm 100% DD, and I'm currently at 400whp 360wtq on the green with 93, from the looks of your guy's graphs, I should have about the same power but much better spool and transient response.
At least that's the hope, if not it will be for sale soon
Yeah I thought about asking a few of you guys that are upgrading if you wanted to part with yours....oh well...No worries.

Either way, that won't affect transient response. Spool and response are different.
Most hta green plots I've seen on pump gas cross 300wtq around 4k and peak torque around 4.5k...I don't think I'm that far off.
Mivec maxed at 28.8 during spool.
Idk...maybe my kelfords are hurting spool a bit...but shouldn't be too much.
Excited to see my plots with the 71hta.
