same for us. i like using Virtual Dyno and street tuning because it's where the car is driven. even our (typical U.S.) dynos are going to differ from the road.
i do like the idea of going back to a dyno AFTER street tuning, in order to tune some cells that i may hit from time to time, just not during street tuning. i could spend a whole day doing that
i need my own dyno (and time from my tuner) for about a week LOL

When I change setups I usually spend 2-3 weeks of road mapping untill I get the map and setup precisely the way I want.

Done.

[QUOTE=Evo8cy;11545921 To give you an example, I designed on a piece of paper in 2000 the gtx 11 blade wheel which Garrett brought out a few years later.

Ok I am done with this discussion. Anyone who says they designed a 3rd order geometry compressor blade design on a piece of paper is smoking some really good stuff. Dedicated aerodynamic engineers spend countless hours using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) to design compressor blades for each GTX wheel. You cannot do this by paper.

Oh and I invented the question mark.

And noobs out there - READ A BOOK. I referenced one above. It discusses how you CANNOT OPERATE a compressor above the surge line because it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE from a compressor pressure/flow standpoint. The compressor map is not THEORY but is actually created by MEASURING the final product! on a test flow rig such as shown here:

Peace out. I am not going to wrestle with nonsense.

The only nonsense on here is what you post up. Lol, I knew it would be commented in this way, when I said it like that, but just wanted to see the comments posted. Take your pick, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, AUTODESK or one of the open source ones. I am a little rusty on them as this is not my day job nor something I do everyday but it is something I've learned how and can do. I've mostly dealt with CATIA back then. The idea of an 11 blade compressor wheel came to me in random time and started on a piece of paper, I actually designed the wheel but never put it on 5-axis. Now learn to accept the opinion of more knowledgable and experienced people on certain things.

No one said compressor maps are theory, I said that they are a base map, based on general reading/data input. They are tested, monitored and evaluated in a certain environment , under certain conditions, Think of this testing and evaluation as putting a car on the dyno to map and dyno, on the road under different loading and ambient conditions, there will be a certain difference. The same happens with turbochargers, when out in ambient conditions, on different setups, they perform differently. My experience has shown me, that compressor wheels present an "extended limit compressor map behaviour" as I like to call it.
Read exactly what I write not whatever suits your benefit. Also what is written in books of such kind, might be contradicted by another book of the same subject matter.

Smart backyard mechanic with no proof of his claims > engineer, might as well just give up Jaraxle.

Yes Cyprus, and damn proud of it. As for my commenting, well I prefer to stick with my tangible-hard proof evidence my experience in the field of tuning has given me, other than that it makes no difference to me what people believe.

New definition for "Tangible hard proof evidence": something Marios has yet to post........

If you're proud of your accomplishments, that should be good enough for you. If you're going to share claims that here are difficult to believe, without a shred of evidence to back them up, just don't. We have many experts with experience directly contradicting the claims of a single unfounded and elitist poster who swears and has an aggressive attitude, who do you think is going to be more convincing?

how about some data once you tune some cars in the near future with similar set ups? so we can see?

How about a parts list? You mentioned cams and what not but never a parts list. I know the real magic is in the tuning of Mivec tables, cam timing, etc but a general parts list of that car with the FP red would be nice too. Thanks
