Is it heavier than the stock cast iron o2 housing?

thats a damn good question, Ill check when I get home, Ive got a spare laying around some where and I honestly cant remember. Last factory o2 housing I Had was YEARS ago, gotta find the damn thing. From memory... mmmmm ide say the FP is heavier

FP site lists its weight at 16lbs...so if its lighter then thats definitely better. inside could use with some porting to smooth things up.

i started the install on mine last night. closer look and im just even more disappointed with it. id is about 2.5" and it looks like they could have made it bigger and it still fit the car with ac in place.
if i hadnt spent 200 on it, id probably throw it away.
my only disclaimer is that I am a little bit on the irrational side when it comes to weight and downpipe diameter, i stepped up the 3" flanges to 3.5 on my truck twins with a 4.8 and 61/62 turbos. also made entire downpipes from aluminum. so i am a fringe case.

mmm I am by no means an expert but playing devils advocate here. If you have an external dump turbo set up how much restriction really is there? I can understand maybe on an internal wastegated set up where the o2 housing merges together to a 2.5 inch and that being a restriction and also creating quite a bit of turbulence. But on an external dump set up would there not be less back pressure?

But I need to remember the turbo outlet is already a 3 inch so its doing this riding the wave type thing lol. 3 inch to 2.5 back to 3 inch. now that I think back I believe FP actually mentioned this however when they first came out with these stainless steel housings. They refused to make something like this for the longest time due to the factory style downpipes. Which is why they offer the 3inch Vband o2 housing.

FP can not win with you people. Either buy a full 3' downpipe from STM or similar, or run their O2 housing. Either option flows much better than stock. Holy ****...lol

This I feel like i'm the only one who thinks this is a great piece. Who cares that it weighs 16lbs. There are plenty of other ways to shed weight off the front of the car. If I was in the marker for a FP turbo I would jump on this piece in a hot minute

i agree.
had i known a 3" o2 housing was actually a 2.5" o2 housing i would have made my own, but its too late now, for several reasons.
