Aftermarket oil drain plug washers?
Aftermarket oil drain plug washers?
Need to change my engine oil, the only Mitsu dealer in the area wants $3.5 for EACH oil drain plug sealing washer. Can anyone suggest a good aftermarket source (lots of Oreilly's in the area), or tell me the inside diameter of the washer, so I can have one ready when I remove the plug?
TIA

If you go to the parts store, they should be able to look up the correct size for your car. I know Advance Auto will do that.
$3.50 is robbery for a little washer but at the same time, you're only changing the oil several times a year so it doesn't add up to much.
I would give you a tip which you may be well aware of, there is NO need to over tighten drain plugs. I see this ofter and then you end up with an oversized drain plug or worse, replacing the pan.

$0.81 each
Hyundai also used the same design for older cars, I got a bunch at $0.15 at local Hyundai parts dealers. (South Korea)
