STM throttle body shaft seal question

Hello all, I just installed the STM high pressure throttle body shaft seals, and in the install, I pressed the seals with the metal side down, as in the plastic/rubber side was facing outwards. I have read a few guides but they all say to press them with the open end in? isn't the open end the rubber end? I am so confused and I just dont wanna have to pull the TB off a second time, any help would be appriciated.

Almost positive that the metal side should be on the outside, 99.9% sure.

Do a boat leak test, if they're sealed, then they're sealed.
