Evo 8 jumping/clunking at full steering low speed

Hey everyone.

Got an issue with a car - Evo 8, non ACD

When let's say sitting at a parking lot, turn the wheel all the way left or right and slowly move in circles it feels like the car is "skipping a beat". It moves than, clunk, moves, clunk etc... It's like something skipped every turn and you can feel it throughout the whole car.

It doesn't do it in reverse.
It doesn't do it if steering is released to a lower angle.

The drivetrain parts were visually inspected prior to assembling the car except for gearbox. The t-case seemed to show no damage, rear diff the same. Driveshafts were checked, one was replaced. It's got all new (and correct) oils.

In a straight line it drives normally, didn't try going fast cause it's got no plates yet so just around the local street and apart from the jumping part at low speed, there doesn't seem to be an issue.

It does seem to have a bad wheel bearing or two (a bit of air in them, not whining tho), otherwise it all looks sturdy.

I'm really just afraid it's the transfer case, as everything else I can source easily and locally.

Did anyone have a similar issue ?

I looked around and found a bunch of stuff that we checked before - topmounts(new), trackrods(new) etc...

Any ideas?

Has the lsd in the rear diff been restacked? Try your test, but stand on the throttle and see if it starts doing donuts. Obviously, make sure you have plenty of room, with no light poles, other cars, etc in the vicinity...lol

The rear differential is locking. This can happen even in cars with factory assembly of the rear diff if the wrong gear oil is used. Actually, this is the way it is supposed to work but was disabled for the USA market.

Check your axles, if the internals/bearings of the axles are worn they will move and clunk.
