2.4 rpm question
2.4 rpm question
I'm upgrading to gsc r2's and kiggly beehives and the r2's are supposed to build power to 8500, but I've been getting mixed opinions on what I should rev to. My turbo is a custom apexi it's equilivant to a 3586r with a 1.06ar hotside. Some say 8k others say 8.5k is fine. Whats your guys opinions thanks again as always!

No, it's really more along the lines of piston speed is high on a 100mm crank, and they make a lot of extra harmonics. Regularly revving it past 8k isn't ideal for longevity. Sure, some guys do it at the strip in their drag cars, but that's not nearly the same as holding 3rd to 9k in between every corner of a twisty road, or at an autocross. Or even more punishing, at a track day.

Even with a long rod 2.4L you don't want to constantly explore the outer limits of it's rev range.
