Lint free rags for engine building?

hey gents,

I was wondering, when putting together an engine that required absolute cleanliness, what rags are used to wipe surfaces? Like crank journals, bearing bores etc.. Even some microfiber towels prduce lint, What do engine builders use?

thanks ya'll!

Looks like many builders are using Kimwipes ($pendy). Some have noted Bounty as being low lint

I actually prefer the costco brand paper towels. They are made in 1/2 sheet sizes.

they play well with brake clean & oil.

Dont get me wrong, kimwipes are really good... but for what I have been doing for decades, a decent paper towel has worked well.

Coffee filters are what I hear does the job properly. Odds are i'll be using costco paper towels with rubbing alcohol and compressed air to clean off my cylinder head mating surfaces.

Coffee filters on the cheap. Or microfiber cloths are very low lint as long as you don't snag them on corners/edges.

I used surgical towels to clean weapons when I was in the military and they were lint free, coffee filters sound like the best idea though

thanks for all the replies gents, contacted kimwipes amd told them what I was doing, they recommended their aviation line of products, ordered a box of the p2's, $56 lol, but for some reason order got canceled so i have to reorder, I figure im spending all this money and time building an engine, Im not gonna cheap out on the cleaning stuff.
