Airtrek Internals

Hey everyone, searched everywhere but can't find a definite answer. I've been modding my 2004 Airtrek turbo, current tune is running 17psi with stock turbo, launch control, speed cut removed and top mount intercooler producing 280hp at the wheels with 98 octane. I'm about to have it tuned again to suit 3 port solenoid, 3" catback and walbro 255 fuel pump.

So my question is does the Airtrek motor have forged internals? I don't want to up the power if its going to destroy my motor. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

The airtrek turbo uses the evo 7 4g63, and the 4g63 does not come with forged internals. Many are running upwards of 400whp on stock internals, honestly, I would be more concerned about the gearbox, IIRC it only comes in automatic transmission?

As long as you're not exposing your engine to huge torque spikes, it should be ok at reasonable whp levels.

Thanks for the reply guys. Even though I have launch control enabled I have never used it due to what I have read about planetary gear failing. Although it way be a good excuse to do a manual conversion..
