Sounds like the tune needs some more attention.

guys...i just wanna know one thing...i'm using an evo 3 engine...i would like to which is which now..

i bought an adjustable cam gear....both of the cam pulley has "A" and "R" indication where by A is on the left and R is on the right as how the picture for HKS adjustable cam pulley is.

So when you say -4/-1 .....which is which? does it mean -4 = -4 degrees (R) in intake or 4 degrees in (A) for the intake cam pulley. Bear in mind i'm using an evo 3 the engine is the other way round. Please help me as i'm somehow confused.

As long as those cam gears are designed for your engine, they should be marked correctly. If that is the case,
R means retarded, which means moving towards R is more -
A means advanced, which means moving towards A is more +

Even if it's wrong, adjusting it a couple of degrees isn't going to damage anything. The piston-to-valve clearance on these low compression engines is miles compared to a Honda. And it's very easy to change the settings. So once you're on the dyno, set them a couple of different ways, and see how your results compare to what is posted in this thread, then make final adjustments accordingly.

maybe youguys can help me, on the HKS adjustable cam gears, the marks refer to 2* increments but they are so close together i cant see how you guys managed to get a -4/-1 ratio, also i dont know where the max that i can go on these cam gears..i dont want to bend a valve or anything...any help would be appreciated

Each mark on the cam gears is ONE cam degree, which is equal to 2 crank degrees. When we say something like -4/-1, we are referring to CAM degrees. So basically, you retard the intake by 4 marks on the cam gears, and the exhaust by 1.

Ted B, what do you think of these cam gear settings -1/+1 on the hks 272 on fp green?

Also will the combination you suggested on another thread with the same setup which is +1/-1 the exact opposite that is, be better on the green and why?

thanks,
Marios.

This question was asked in previous post but I didn't see an answer. So has anybody used the BC cams? Any info would be helpful!

These cams were tested in AMS's cam test and had to be greatly degreed ($) and they made minimal power.
